Why volunteer at Celebrate Brooklyn?
The Bandshell in Prospect Park is a wonderful setting for outdoor performances. You'll have fun while helping in a variety of ways at our music, film, and dance performances. Through Volunteering you can connect with the cultural life of your community, meet new people and work together to make something incredible happen.

Dedicated volunteers play an integral role in the staging of Celebrate Brooklyn. The time and assistance you contribute over the course of the summer will make this year's Celebrate Brooklyn Performing Arts Festival the best yet!
What is expected of me as a volunteer?
Celebrate Brooklyn presents 25-30 performances during the months of June, July, and August. Volunteers will be required to work an approximately four hour shift for each performance. Your commitment to scheduled dates is important. Although there is no minimum, volunteers are encouraged to sign-up for at least 10 performances.

What can I do as a volunteer?
There are many exciting areas of the festival to volunteer in:

PRE-SEASON VOLUNTEERS - Roll up your sleeves and help out behind-the-scene, assisting us with such projects as the Friends of Celebrate Brooklyn membership program; the opening night gala; and a variety of marketing projects.
VOLUNTEER HOSPITALITY - You'll help coordinate volunteer sign-in, as well as their refreshments and breaks.
ENTRANCE GATES - Volunteers will assist the House Staff with greeting festival attendees, distributing programs, and keeping a count for each performance.
ENVIRONMENT - You will ensure the cleanliness and safety of the venue for guests to enjoy.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & PUBLICITY - Celebrate Brooklyn in your neighborhood by distributing and posting our summer schedule on your block. Spread the word about performances to your friends and family.
CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES - Entertain the kids with face painting, hat making - fun for the kids!
SURVEY COMMITTEE - Conduct simple, short surveys of festival-goers. This information will help us plan future events and assist with programming ideas.
INFORMATION & MERCHANDISE BOOTH - Provide information on schedule changes, site layout, & upcoming events. Assist with mailing list and raffle entries, and sell Celebrate Brooklyn merchandise.
Are there perks to being a volunteer?
Yes!!! As a volunteer you get discounted food from our on-site concessionaire (Two Boots) and free beverages in the volunteer tent. You'll be invited to bring a friend to the Volunteer and Staff party at the end of the summer. Volunteers will be eligible for tickets to ticketed benefit concerts at Celebrate Brooklyn.
