As reported by Brooklyn Junction several weeks ago (click here for details) and as just announced at Brooklyn College's 83rd Commencement exercises BC's Roosevelt Hall will be replaced by a "new state-of-the-art science facility" in the near future.

It makes me sad. I'm new to the neighborhood, and a large part of its draw for me is the college ambience. Losing a building with such a history and style stabs at that.
I heartily agree! It's a shame to lose a Neo-classic gem. (Why couldn't it have that atrocity known as James Hall?) The college claims that it would be more expensive to renovate Roosevelt than to rebuild. What can ya do?
